Many people believe that soul winning is only for certain people in the church. I have heard people in the past say that it is the Pastor’s job, other staff members, missionaries, or those who have been called to do it. The Bible commands everyone to share the gospel. Mark 16:15, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Matthew 28:19-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” The gospel can work wherever or whenever. God does not limit the Gospel to a certain group of people but it is for everyone. The Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the anchor of what we believe; it is the Good News. It is the greatest news that has ever been heard or will ever be heard.
I have recently heard from several different missionaries that are traveling across the U.S. that many churches do not have soul winning anymore. How can a body of believers not share the gospel? Many churches have replaced the main thing with entertainment, other programs or others things that please the world. It is time for God’s people to get back to the main thing and that is keeping people out of Hell. I am not against these churches, but I pray that God convicts them and shows them what they are supposed to do.
The only time the Gospel of Christ does not work is when we don’t use it! A Christian who does not soul win should never call himself a Christian. For a Christian is to be “Christ-like”, full of compassion, bearing the awesome name of Christ. He is not to be ashamed to spread the powerful name of Christ. Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” How could one hold back the working of the Holy Spirit from inside of them? I tell you, it is sin! Sin is the problem. One who does not share the gospel damages the name of Christ. The have allowed apathy to set in, and their heart has become hardened. How could we not share such a great name! Do you love Him? Share His name; tell others about the Good News. Luke 9:26, “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.”
Please realize that soul winning is a command of God. Please share His name with someone this week.
Daniel 12:3, “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
